Do you like to read?  Our next book to review will be Whispers of the Bayou by Mindy Starns Clark. Next meeting...to be announced in October.

Whispers of the Bayou

This book has a great suspense plot and offers some very interesting twists. Miranda Miller is too busy surviving hard circumstances to expect easy living. So, when she learns that her grandparents' Louisiana estate is now hers, she welcomes a change of pace in the land of the Bayou. But the Deep South holds dark secrets! Well hidden staircases and murky mysteries give way to a bright hope? This is a well-written book and definitely one that will grip your interest.
For further information, please call Nancy Miller (423-7183) or Sharon Ingleton (408-1771). Have a good read, and a good summer!

Mission Opportunities has begun their new season with much success.  The ladies have ‘set up shop’ in the area once known as the Computer Lab and are pleased to have a ‘place to call home.’  This room is located at the back of the Sanctuary next to the sound booth.  It is equipped with tables, sewing machines, and surgers, set up and ready for use.

Sewing For Mission
sewing for mission

The mission of this group is to make baby gowns, receiving blankets, baby quilts, stuffed toys, hats, etc. to donate to Management Resource Center in South County.  Lap robes and shawls are donated to various nursing homes.

From time to time donations of cotton, cotton/poly fabrics, yarn, 4 ply, sport yarn, and wool blend yarn, as well as buttons (size ¾ and 7/8 inch) are needed.

If you would like more information or would like to help with this mission of the church, contact Peggy Karash at 497-1674.
