ORDERED MINISTRIES OF THE CHURCH

The Church’s ministry is a gift from Jesus Christ to the whole Church. Christ alone rules, calls, teaches, and uses the Church as he wills, exercising his authority by the ministry of women and men for the establishment and extension of God’s new creation. Christ’s ministry is the foundation and standard for all ministry, the pattern of the one who came “not to be served but to serve” (Matt. 20:28). The basic form of ministry is the ministry of the whole people of God, from whose midst some are called to ordered ministries, to fulfill particular functions. Members and those in ordered ministries serve together under the mandate of Christ.

THE SESSION

Our Session is a Christ-centered community of men and women called to serve as spiritual leaders of Trinity Church. This highly-dedicated and committed group of servant leaders meet monthly as a Session.

The Session provides oversight to all ministries of the church, including the Board of Deacons and Trustees. The Pastor serves as Moderator along side 6 elders who are elected by the congregation. A class of two elders are elected each year to a 3-year term.

BOARD OF DEACONS

The office of deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ. Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies, and sound judgment should be chosen for this office. Our Deacons meet monthly and are responsible for a specific care ministry of the church. These ministries involve feeding the hungry, visiting the sick and home bound, and providing comfort in times of loss, as well as setting up our home communion program.
